Despacito the song of Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi along with Daddy Yankee was released in 2017. It became the number streamed song at the moment within just six months. The single a mix of reggaeton, pop and rock not only brought renewed attention to reggaeton but it also drew interest towards Latin music in general. In 2015 there were only two mostly Spanish-language songs on Billboard's Top 100 and in 2016 there were four. At the height of Despacito's popularity the track was one of 19 that mainly Spanish have made it into the Billboard Top 100. The year 2020 will see the number will increase to 41 songs in this category. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with a Spanish version in 2017 shortly after which popular artists began working with reggaeton acts. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny to produce MIA (2018), while Madonna collaborated on Medellin with Maluma (2019). Certain reggaeton performers have criticized the shift to mainstream music in 2020. However, a brand new group, Rauw Alejandro, wanted to continue the growth and evolution of reggaeton. The incorporation of elements from electronic dance music, and various other genres was a typical procedure.
